What are G2P Payments?

It costs US$1 to issue and mail a paper check, while processing a card transaction costs between 10 and 12 cents.
 
The U.S Treasury currently distributes around 44 million federal benefit checks a year. If these were converted into electronic payments, it would save the government approximately US$130 million each year.
